I am putting together an organized guided, fully supported group ride from La Union, Lempiro, Honduras to The outskirts of San Pedro Sula. It is approximately 100 miles trough the mountains, forests, along rivers, through villages, etc. the route is 40 miles of dirt roads and the remainder is paved. Very few vehicles to contend with. The entire route is down hill. It starts at 4,500 feet and descends to about 500 above sea level. It will be only 4 days. Day one travel; Day two bikes ride in La Union and the near by settlements, see the culture and environment of the agrarian society in the mountains; Day three, ride from La Union to San Pedro Sula. Spend the night in a premier hotel; Day four, travel back o the states ( flight time to and from Houston is only about 2.5 hours). There will be bikes provided, or you can ship yours. This will be a trip that a moderately athletic individual can make. We will stop multiple times for rest, photos, and food. We will also stop midway and enjoy hot spring pools. We will have support vehicles in front and behind and support staff to cater to our group. If you are interested, email me at [email protected]. All profits will go to La Casa De Esparanza, which is a Christian children's home in La Union. We will actually lodge in the dorms at this home for two of the nights.
