I was watching the news report about a guy arrested on a charge of rape. While walking to the cell, the camera was on and the mic too, all the while, the guy was denying the chargreas. And then he said that a girl can lose her virginity by riding a bike. I was surprised when the cop escorting him agreed.

When I started riding, I already heard that line of the probability of losing virginity - to mean that thin flesh called hymen will be lacerated. Is that a myth or not?

I don't think that could happen, unless of course some crazy accident occurred. It's not something I am to worried about. I've been cycling for quite a few years, and I am still a virgin!

I think that there are many exercises and sports that have the potential to tear the hymen, although this is the first time I've ever heard it used as a defense in a rape case. I don't however, think exercise can rip the hymen in the same fashion as direct penetration can, and a doctor can probably determine how a woman lost her virginity.

Actually, there are a lot of myths surrounding the hymen. It doesn't really cover the vigina or equate to losing one's virginity. It's a thin membrane that is attached to the vaginal wall and doesn't nessarily break during intercourse, it can break but that depends on various factors.

It's possible for the hymen to be torn during physical activity but virginity is a human constructed term and has nothing to do with the actual piece of tissue. As long as a person hasn't had intercourse before, they're still a virgin regardless of whether or not the hymen has been torn.

Thank you for the replies, ladies. I was just curious because it was very clear in the footage of the news report that the suspect said that - biking can make you lose your virginity. Maybe that's the "silent reason" why it is quite unique to see a girl riding a bike in the city particularly teenagers. I was not aware of that virginity issue with the bike then but I was wondering why there there are so many male bikers on the streets particularly during summer vacation which was a nice time to ride but not one female rider I had seen except me and 2 of my friends.

That's completely not true. The media love the exaggerate on the news in order to make them more appellative. In no way you can lose your virginity while riding a bike.

It might happen if the biker is putting to much pressure when riding his bicycle but this is a very rare event. Some studies reveal that a hymen can be teared when women do strenuous activities such as splitting, heavy weight lifting and kicking but there are few evidences that relates biking to losing a women's virginity.

Such claims are unfound in the medical profession for that's just the way some will want to put blames on some circumstances for their mishap. There is little possibility of one losing her virginity while riding a bike. I mean such is not possible unless on cases where the said lady gets involves in an accident that affects the upper region of the leg while riding.

The hymen can be torn with strenuous physical activity, however, if this happens, you are still a virgin since the hymen is not really all there is to your virginity. In some cases, the hymen can also regrow even in those who are no longer virgins. Still, in cases of rape, the initial physical examination will still give clues if there really was a sexual assault, and the hymen is not the only thing looked by medical examiners in these cases.

It is true that women can lose their virginity after some strenuous exercise, but the thing is that we can't say for sure that it is true in all cases. This is also the first time that I am to hear that hymen can regrow back after it has been torn for any reason. I will have to research more to see how possible it is to occur.

Well, I've been riding a bike since I was a kid, and I've had multiple accidents while on it, and never ever got something similar to loose it. However, in medical issues nothing is completely true or false, so I guess that could depends on any specific case. It would really interesting to read a medical report about it, that is a heck of a legal case for sure.

Actually, I have seen a lot of videos that explains the possibilities that you may lose your virginity by frequently riding a bike. In fact, it reported as a news before in my country. According to the specialist, they explained scientifically how ladies ride a bike affects our private part which makes them concludes that it has a tendency to lose ladies' virginity. I forgot the details of it but in spite of that, I still continue my passion in cycling because it gives me enjoyment and losing my virginity through cycling is partly okay for me as long it does not make any further serious complications that might put our health at risk.

I've heard this countless times from my friends. When I was a kid they told me not to ride the bike because I will lose my virginity. They use it to discourage me. From what I know now, physical activities can cause the hymen to tear. I've never heard of the hymen growing back. But I heard that if a woman who has not engage in sexual intercourse for a long time she will bleed if she engage in it again.

I heard someone told me that cycling could lose your virginity maybe because of the circumstance in which hymen gets ripped of because of the action we are doing while we are cycling. Though I have read a lot of blogs about it because of my curiosity, I'm not quite sure if it is true. Maybe to some women it may happen but not all the time, it may depends on how you do your cycling or the type of bicycle your are you using. I gues it depende on the type of bicycle because if it is too big for you, you may have to stretch your legs down to reach the pedals and that may be the cause of the ripping of the hymen. You just have to be careful while cycling and still act like a women so that it'll be safer.
