I just finished walking on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. I was gone for a month and I lost 15 lbs. (I am no longer a Clydesdale). My first ride back was so weird. First off, my jersey and shorts fit better. But my conditioning was off. Lungs were burning! But my legs felt good. What was noticeable was my acceleration. Seemed like when I wanted to take off, my "get up and go" was very good. Don't know if that's because of 15 less pounds or from all the walking. No matter. So good to be back on two wheels again!

 15 pounds off the corpus makes a big difference when climbing. The lung burning will be gone before you know it.
