Just bought Shimano SH-R087 Road Bike Shoes w/ PD-R540 any comments?

I've been searching and reviewing about pedals and shoes for a couple of days now. I got them from

With 3 day shipping and a coupon code they came out to be $150. Does anyone have these?

I've got the shoes, but I use M540 pedals with the SPD cleats. I go back and forth between mountain biking and road biking but surely love the shoes. I've had no issues with them and they're certainly comfortable.

The R540 pedals are a great entry to SPD-SL but don't last too well, I wore out my only pair with only ~8000km. Their DA replacements have done >20,000km and are still smooth and without bearing play.

If I got almost 5000 miles out of them I would be more than happy. Where the hell do you ride to get up to 8000km? Do you live in Montauk and work in Los Angeles? That's awesome though.
