I'm planning to spend a few days in Lake Placid on a road bike. I've not biked there before and am interested in all there is to know -- routes, terrain, June temperatures, rest stops, places not-to-be-missed, opinions on anything related to the place, you name it.
And is there a bike map available on line?

It's a great town for cycling. June highs are usually mid to upper 70's and somewhat humid. It's a pretty hilly area, but there are some flat areas around town. Placid Planet is the big local bike shop. http://www.placidplanetbicycles.com/ They have a lot of info there about routes and group rides. And don't forget to stop for a post-ride pint of Ubu at the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery.
