stupid questions looking at my bike?

is there any reason why the chainrings are on the right side? also why are the pedals opposite threads? just curious

I can't say on the chainrings other than if in doubt they always seem to make things right sided.
The pedals are opposing threads in such a way as they will not unscrew themselves in the event that the bearing seizes.
