The Thread about Nothing....

Did anyone see the results for the Australian SECRET Track Cycling Championship?

Coverage had been appalling. Anyway, Glaestner rode under a minute for the kilo again, there were a couple of sub 4.15 4000m pursuits, and both Victoria and SA went under 4min in the final for the teams pursuit.

Also, Nick Green stood down as cycling Australia CEO. Good.

Nup. So Nick Green was a cnut?
More importantly, though, there was a ****ing TAN ride on the weekend I tells ya.
Some bogan tradie drove his pigpen Hiace hard on the backroads to the Hunter Valley, I saw sparks from the roof racks at one point I'm pretty sure, and sadly Eddy broke loose from his occy straps in the back along with everything else somewhere near Wollombi and has lost a bit more paint now, but I got to visit a Hawthorn CC stalwart in his new country NSW digs, and well, I had a great time at least. That other cnut seemed to tolerate the imposition well enough. And he's done well with the move, I tells ya. Don't let anyone tell you the Upper Hunter is full of bogans.

I was distinctly outclassed, although that's not saying much. And there was a selfie taken which I hoped captured the rather nice mancave along with potential proof of a TAN ride, but didn't quite, and when I tried to post it it was upside down and my tech skills are ****, so I'll leave that to that other cnut if he so desires. Cheers Paulie, was a ****ing cracker weekend, but if you beat me at Canasta again next time, there WILL be words.

D'accord on everything you wrote Beepers. A splendid weekend. And my CRUSHING victory in Canasta was merely beginner's luck.

Still upset about your scratched Eddie though.

Now this hippy article comes close to articulating my concerns with the new technodemocracy we've found ourselves mired in.

It reignites my innate sense for socialist democracy which I've let slide for too long. As does my my first week of teaching in a new year ever, and for the first time getting a heads up on realising how many horseshit unpaid hoops I'm expected to jump through to Work For NSW 8 hours a week. The honeymoon is over. And that all of the office ****ers who work there fulltime want me to do their jobs for free outside of the 8 hours I'm getting paid to teach directly. It's made me realise how much of a golden existence I've previously had as a sole trader with no employees and no schedule but my own; except making sure **** has gotten done properly to a looseish schedule, and essentially earning just enough to survive.
Hmm. I want to see this year out as a teacher. As a personal challenge, and as a way of building an acumen. I'm not gonna want to be on the tools in my 60's, and based on my current financial perspective I'm gonna have to work until the day I die. But I'm also pretty sure I don't really need or want to Work For NSW again until about then either. I despair for the concept of simple productivity. It's definitely a learning experience.
I watched Catalyst last night too and saw the immediate future of robot farming. It's awesome tech, but it's the loss of tens of thousands of jobs too. And it's gonna destroy small business farming/families and send all the money to the big guys yet again. These are amazing times. I wish I could say something more positive than it's an amazing time for tech. Because I'm not so sure it is remotely a positive for most people, who are stuck within this analogue 'democratic' capitalist political and economic structure, which was at least once labour dependant, and at least somewhat local normally; and is now already ancient history only one generation into the digital age.

What are these Asians singing that **** John Lennon song for?

Imagine aww the peopoo riving rife in peace ayayayayyyyaya aiiiii

I'm ronery, so ronery

The winter Olympics suck.

The only things that aren't ghey are the alpine skiing, cross country skiing, speed skating (long and short track) and the ice hockey.

The rest is pants.

Unless ping pong, taikwondo and garlic eating are winter Olympic events these Koreans will win **** all.

****. Now madam butterfly is on.

No it's not. It's still the Olympic ceremony. Faaark

That opening ceremony was underwhelming. The 1200 drones making light shapes was interesting tho.

Curling is pretty neat too.
