Hi all, we're bringing our own bikes to tour Netherlands, with a two-three day stopover in Amsterdam. Does anyone know of any places where we can put the bikes in locked storage? I heard the bike theft rates there are through the roof, and figured it would be worth it to just keep them in one safe place, then pick them up when we leave the city again. Thanks! p.s. I posted this messsage in the UK and Europe forum as well, but it seemed like a little-used forum, so I added it in here. Please forgive me my double-posting |

There is secure parking for bicycles in Amsterdam - but I don't think they operate 24 hours. Operates much the same way as automobile carparks. My hotel had an enclosed courtyard, so I locked the bike inside of that. Another hotel I stayed at did not have any facility and was up a nice steep narrow stairway anyway. They just recommended locking all of the bike - the wheels - the frame, etc. and removing anything removable before someone else did it for me.
