I've been there but not for cycling. Have you been to Russia before? Khabarovsk is pretty cool. Just keep your eyes open, the mafia is very bold there. You'll find cyclists I'm sure! There is a good book called "Off The Map" by Mark Jenkins - it's his adventure cycling from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg. It's a fun read and informative too! I think there are Mt. bike tours now running around Lake Baikal. If you can, I highly recommend visiting Baikal. Adjectives aren't enough to describe the place. have fun! |

I've been in St Petersburg, Moscow, Tver, Riga and Tallinn. St Petersburg is the best part of Russia where the people are more friendly while Moscow people are bit of a pain on occasions. Never been to Vladivostok but you'll find lots of gorgeous girls in that region and they tend to be more forward than western females in my opinion. Alcohol is cheap. My favourite was the Rasputinskoe pivo they sold in little bottles with a picture of Rasputin on the bottle. Last time I was in St Pete David Copperfield was in town as he has Russian roots and heritage in the city. Quote:

some riding. Anyone out there who's been there and lived to tell the tale?
