Well I managed to make it work. Basically, I bonded the freewheel body to the disc. All it took was a ring of 50mm PVC drainpipe, cut to about 30mm long, and slipped around the cassette body, with one edge flush against the alloy part of the disc. Then I filled the whole cavity with epoxy resin. For good measure I had a 13 tooth ring buried in the middle of the resin, so it isn't going to freewheel ever again. Now it is a track disc. I just have a big stack of spacers and a 14 tooth single speed cassette sprocket on the piece of cassette body that protrudes from the resin. The advantage here is that the chain-line can be adjusted through the position of the spacers. |
