Hiya, A few days ago someone stole my bike from Dover High Street ('sob') and although posting this is clutching at straws it is still better than doing nothing (er, leastways I think it is). Apparently, bike thieves will often try to sell a bike in another town so if anyone in the Kent area see a bike matching the following description please let the Police know (quoting crime number HZ 1612104) Its a metallic silver 24-speed Jeep Comanche with a front disc brake which looks quite similar to this pic: http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...clickfrom=name At a casual glance the most noticable distinguishing feature is the non-standard seatpost which is black with two white "B52" logos on it. The frame number is: KUV 3139708 Its a shame there isn't a mailing list/discussion group whereby details of stolen bikes could be emailed to people who would look at those appropriate to the area they live in! Thanks for reading this - I feel a little better at having done SOMETHING beyond getting the Police to check CCTV tapes and my touring of second-hand shops. -- John Latter Model of an Internal Evolutionary Mechanism (based on an extension to homeostasis) linking Stationary-Phase Mutations to the Baldwin Effect. http://members.aol.com/jorolat/TEM.html 'Where Darwin meets Lamarck?'
