Default Someone Stole My Bike! (Kent)

Hiya,

A few days ago someone stole my bike from Dover High Street ('sob')
and although posting this is clutching at straws it is still better
than doing nothing (er, leastways I think it is).

Apparently, bike thieves will often try to sell a bike in another town
so if anyone in the Kent area see a bike matching the following
description please let the Police know (quoting crime number HZ
1612104)

Its a metallic silver 24-speed Jeep Comanche with a front disc brake
which looks quite similar to this pic:

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...clickfrom=name

At a casual glance the most noticable distinguishing feature is the
non-standard seatpost which is black with two white "B52" logos on it.

The frame number is: KUV 3139708

Its a shame there isn't a mailing list/discussion group whereby
details of stolen bikes could be emailed to people who would look at
those appropriate to the area they live in!

Thanks for reading this - I feel a little better at having done
SOMETHING beyond getting the Police to check CCTV tapes and my touring
of second-hand shops.

Hi John, Ive just read about the theft of your bike. I had a bike stolen years ago and I remember how I felt at the time. I just wanted to send commiserations and I truly hope that you are lucky enough to get it back. Keep posting to let us all know how you get on. In the meantime I will keep an eye out for the bike, I live in Dartford, so you never know !!
