Default Sun, hills and tailwinds

For once I got the weather right! Went out today for a bit of a ride. Nice hilly bit on some roads
I'd not ridden before (up to Ledyatt from Dundee on teh A923, down the minor roads to Abernyte, up
the B something to Balbeggie where I got a cup of tea and hot sausage roll for a measly 1.15 from
the village shop, along the A94 for a mile then up to Oliverburn, and down to Glen Carse. At this
point I joined NCN 77 and was out of the hills, onto the flat area by the Tay. The wind was now
behind as I span through Errol and back to Dundee. Serious tailwind. Gentle spinning at 25mph for
ten miles.

The only downside was the uphill past Ninewells as I got home.

Cracking ride, great weather. Apart from the A roads, I saw more pheasant than cars (live pheasant
too!). Two deer on the road in Abernyte, an ermine (white streak with a black tipped tail), a
buzzard mewing, and the usual rabbits and birds.

After the rain and hail at 11am I decided to get on the turbo (again). It was a horrible session - I
never have any real power before mid-afternoon.

The temperature has plummeted this afternoon and it has just started snowing. Glad I went early..

Yep, we were too late... By the time I had finished my run and shower and breakfast and made it from
Tayport to Pete's near Ninewells into the wind it was starting to snow and I didn't really want to
do more work against that wind. The ride back to Tayport however was very nice :-)

I tend to be up and out early. Yesterday was a late start at 8.30. The aim is to get back by
lunchtime.

It didn't start snowing till mid afternoon (or maybe I missed something, I'm only a mile or so away
from Ninewells (Lochee)).
