Where are > the other decent places to buy online? Errrmmm... your local bike shop? Let's face it, a 27.2mm seatpost is about the most standard thing there is. Wiggle will sell you one for twelve squids: <URL:http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?ProductID=5360006738> (but it's a one-bolt clamp so I wouldn't) Or a suspension one for 50p more: <URL:http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?ProductID=5300005795> (and that's a one-bolt clamp, too, sadly) Edinburgh Bicycle will sell you two different ones for thirteen squids (catalogue numbers 18923 and 18060 respectively, but of course I can't link to them... D'oh!) but they're both single bolt too. Cheapest 27.2 two-bolt clamp (twenty squids) I can find online is this one: <URL:http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?ProductID=5360012595> Your LBS should be able to do you a BBB for less. -- simon@jasmine.org.uk (Simon Brooke) http://www.jasmine.org.uk/~simon/ ;; 'I think we should trust our president in every decision ;; that he makes and we should just support that' ;; Britney Spears of George W Bush, CNN 04:09:03 |

Simon I don't wanna be rude here but you do have a habit of giving smart arsed answers which contradict the questions asked. I am perfectly well aware that I could walk into any bike shop and buy what I'm looking for - my post said 'online', which is not a bike shop! I'd also looked at those in Wiggle and Edinburgh (as I'd also said) and was looking for some help in sourcing somewhere else 'online' so that I can make the best choice from all of those available. If you walk into your LBS you'll get to see it before you put your money down, you won't pay postage, you'll have it today, you won't have to wait in for the postie, if it's wrong it's easy to take it back. *And* for very generic things like this it will probably be cheaper. -- simon@jasmine.org.uk (Simon Brooke) http://www.jasmine.org.uk/~simon/ Wannabe a Web designer? <URL:http://userfriendly.org/cartoons/archives/97dec/19971206.html> |

You could spend a lot of time looking at any number of websites but if your requirements are not too specialized, what's wrong with Wiggle? They stock a wide range of makes, models, sizes and prices - I'd be surprised if they didn't have something to suit. Indeed, I bought a perfectly good seatpost from them only a few weeks ago for under ten quid (it's worth checking back frequently to see what special offers they have on - this particular post was 40% off list price). Wiggle also offer the option of free delivery. However, having said that, it's always looking at Parker International as they tend to be very competitive with their pricing. <URL:http://www.parker-international.co.uk/> d. |
