Default Best online dealer?

Hi all

I am after a 300mm x 27.2 mm seatpost for a hybrid bike and am struggling to
find a decent yet inexpensive one on Wiggle or Edinburgh. Where are the
other decent places to buy online?

Thanks

Paul

No particular ranking to the above, an of course there are others.

Errrmmm... your local bike shop?

Let's face it, a 27.2mm seatpost is about the most standard thing there
is. Wiggle will sell you one for twelve squids:

<URL:http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?ProductID=5360006738>
(but it's a one-bolt clamp so I wouldn't)

Or a suspension one for 50p more:
<URL:http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?ProductID=5300005795>
(and that's a one-bolt clamp, too, sadly)

Edinburgh Bicycle will sell you two different ones for thirteen squids
(catalogue numbers 18923 and 18060 respectively, but of course I can't
link to them... D'oh!) but they're both single bolt too.

Cheapest 27.2 two-bolt clamp (twenty squids) I can find online is this
one: <URL:http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?ProductID=5360012595>

Your LBS should be able to do you a BBB for less.

Simon I don't wanna be rude here but you do have a habit of giving smart
arsed answers which contradict the questions asked. I am perfectly well
aware that I could walk into any bike shop and buy what I'm looking for - my
post said 'online', which is not a bike shop! I'd also looked at those in
Wiggle and Edinburgh (as I'd also said) and was looking for some help in
sourcing somewhere else 'online' so that I can make the best choice from all
of those available.

http://www.bikepimp.co.uk

Entering "seatpost" gives 243 results, ordered by price. Mind the p&p,
though!

I donl't think simon was being particularly 'smart arsed' (after all this is urc, read some helmet threads for real smart arsed replaies :-) as you didn't give much information about exactly what you want in your original question (lots of what you didn't want but not much about what you did) Wiggle cover prices from £12 to £110 so what is it you want, an absolute bargain? If so say you want a carbon post for a tenner? (If anyone knows where I can get one of thee please let me know :-) What's wrong with the ones at Wiggle and Edinburgh? Do you have an oversion to using them?

So, Paul, what is it exactly you are after? How much do you want to pay, what type of service are you expecting? Tell us this and we may be able to help you in your search.

Yes, but why? If you walk into your LBS you'll get to see it before you
put your money down, you won't pay postage, you'll have it today, you
won't have to wait in for the postie, if it's wrong it's easy to take
it back. *And* for very generic things like this it will probably be
cheaper.

ebay. Seriously, if you're prepared to wait, you will - there have been
some very silly prices for some carbon stuff recently.

Add Chain Reaction to the list.

You could spend a lot of time looking at any number of websites but if
your requirements are not too specialized, what's wrong with Wiggle?
They stock a wide range of makes, models, sizes and prices - I'd be
surprised if they didn't have something to suit. Indeed, I bought a
perfectly good seatpost from them only a few weeks ago for under ten
quid (it's worth checking back frequently to see what special offers
they have on - this particular post was 40% off list price). Wiggle
also offer the option of free delivery.

However, having said that, it's always looking at Parker International
as they tend to be very competitive with their pricing.

That's not our business, is it?

He's asking people for their opinion on decent sites to buy online, what
don't you understand about that?
