Default Silva Muti Navigator

Does anyone use a Silva Muti Navigator?? If so how do they compare to the Garmin Etrex?? Are there
any donwfalls with the Silva GPS's??Reason for asking is I am considering getting a GPS. I use the
Garmin Etrex a fair bit through my work and I know they are good, but the Silva ones are slightly
cheaper than the equivalent Garmin one.

One thing to consider is if there is any software compatible with it. There are plenty of
mapping programs that are compatible with Garmins, less for Magellan and probably none for more
obscure makes.

If you may want to use it with a PC its an important consideration.

Yes. There's no map screen. Now I'm not talking about mapping GPSs, pretty much all GPSs have a map
screen, although if it's a non-mapping GPS there won't be anything on it, except your waypoints,
your routes and the track of your walk. Even though there's no actual map on the map screen, all
these other details make it extremely useful indeed. I use the map screen more than any other when
walking, it makes it very easy to see where you are in relation to nearby waypoints.

It may be a very good GPS aside from that, but I would never buy one without a map screen.
