I know this is a terrible confession to make but I always get beaten by female cyclists uphills as I have no will to overtake. If the lady has good legs, I kind of prefer the view from behind. These are the downfalls of being a guy - testosterone.

Here are the pictures of "the hill". Steptoe Butte in Colfax WA. Looks like a pretty tuff hill to me but the sights around it would be worth the effort in the end.

Again, these were taken by Chuck Haney and featured in "The Ride" Bicycle Magzine twice.

Yeah - I should update the bike color - I love my new Ruby! Sometime I'll have to get over to Steptoe Butte - It looks like its absolutely beautiful - what a view! I've been close a couple of times - just weekend before last we did a TT in Cheney, but it was about 105 degrees over there so after the race we didn't feel like doing much besides going home. Maybe someone will orgainize a hillclimb race up it and then I'll really have to go

Unfotunately not, I turned the trip into a "family vacation", which left little time for riding and other activities. The Monterey Peninsula is absolutely beautiful.
