Just got a mail from a broker. Dow Jones industrial average reached 13,500 just before the bubble burst mid 2008, Dow Jones crashed to 6,900 (after Lehman Bros went bust). 50% drop. Today the Dow is at 9,500 which is a gain of 38%, from 6,900 low. FTSE 100 average reached 6000 just before the bubble burst mid 2008. FTSE 100 average crashed to 3,200 (after Lehman Bros went bust). Nearly 50% drop again. Today the FTSE is at 4,900, which is a gain of 55%, from 3,200 low. Interesting stuff.

[I]I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles. You should believe in these athletes, and you should believe in these people. I'll be a fan of the Tour de France for as long as I live. And there are no secrets - this is a hard sporting event and hard work wins it" - Armstrong 2005 TDF morelike hypocrisy. |
