    Tektro Auriga disc brakes?

I had some tektro aquilas on my GT avalanche 2.0. After maybe 2 months the rear brake would grab OK but it wouldn't release well. I went ahead and got them warrantied but already had them changed out to Avid BB5's before the warrantied part came in. I know they aren't the same model as your...

    Radical prostatectomy and cycling

I don't know anything about the surgery but consider asking your doc about a recumbent stationary bike or similar. Maybe that would help. I honestly don't know, just offering suggestions. Good luck, Greg

    Chocolate Milk Question

Let me get out the old sports nutrition book.....If you are wanting to make sure your glycogen stores are repleted, it recommends consuming 2 grams of carbohydrate per Kg of bodyweight within 2 hours of completing the exercise. After this, your glycogen uptake is much slower. Hope this helps. Greg

Lookie there Zaskar, you ran off our punching bag. Who do we have now that will willingly put theirself in harms way. Honestly, I don't usually make fun or take offense to many people, but his extremism invites it.

    getting in shape help

Ben, How long did it take you? I'm right about 235 now and have just started back on the bike. I'm thinking probably 3-4 months to get below 200. Does that sound about right? I know it will depend on my exercise, food intake etc. but thought I'd see what your experience was. Thanks, Greg

    How to get "kick-started"

I'll keep ya posted. I've got a nice used roadbike spotted I've just got to come up with the cash to buy it. I'm riding my mtn. bike (on road) until then. I figure I should be able to fly with such a lighter bike and such skinnier tires. I'll keep ya posted. Greg

    How to get "kick-started"

Wow, thats quite a ways away. I'm from Oklahoma, probably about 1200 miles (just guessing) from you. I've thought about a trainer too. I'll have to start making room for things pretty soon. Hopefully a road bike is in my near future.

    How to get "kick-started"

Ed, Sorry to hear about you being sidelined, that's tough. I know what you mean about the guilt factor too. I never thought I'd have a tough time with it but I sure do. A lot of times I want to ride, go to the gym etc. but end up at home because I think they "can't do without me". I'm...

    How to get "kick-started"

I tried the home gym but it hasn't worked for me. When I'm in the gym I want to give it 110%. I can't do that with kids (and wife for that matter) interrupting me during my workout. All it does is pi ss me off and make it worse. Thats why I have taken up cycling. Its an activity I enjoy and...

    How to get "kick-started"

I actually used to bodybuild and I still really enjoy the gym. My job is making it difficult. I live 45 minutes from the gym and since I'm in sales there is no way of determining where I'm going to be at the end of the day, or for that matter, where I'll be starting off the day. That's why I...

Me or him, lol. And to ratioman, I wholeheartedly agree that a plant based diet is extremely healthy and wholesome provided you consume adequate calories and complimentary proteins etc. My point was that you came off as a fanatic when you chose words and phrases such as fast filth restaurants...

    How to get "kick-started"

I think that is what I am missing. Someone to train with, ride with etc. I miss the comraderie of being a regular at the gym and having a core group of folks to work out with, riding or lifting. I'm focusing on getting a road bike so I can ride the bi-weekly LBS rides as well as some other...

Ok, I got curious and looked at some of the links. Most appear to be statements from individuals regarding the different products, not actual studies. I sure wouldn't base my beliefs on what someone told me, much less a documentary. I'm done. Good luck in your choices!
