My favorite is when speedy drivers slow down to yell. Oh the irony. A buddy of mine and I were riding a few weeks ago and the SUV had enough time to slow down, cuss us out, then drive off. Kids in the back seat. All I said back was "you have kids in your car friend..."

LA is the land of cars and suburbs. I've been run off the road on the westside, mid city, and downtown. Not a lack of awareness on the part of the driver it seems.

My current bike is matte Black. When i was in the market, a flat paint job was my only requirement. Not sure why I like it so much. My Nishiki is bright red glossy.

I buy most of my stuff on CL, but I did buy some gloves once.

Ride with friends and ride outside the city to get comfortable being around cars/keeping speed. I started in smaller town, then moved to LA and already had some confidence riding on the road. I couldn't imagine how hard just jumping right in would be.

Stand Your Ground... wait... you are just going to face people like that. Be as safe as you can, wear a helmet, know the rules. If you aren't comfortable, find a new route. Find your groove.
