High blood press & Cholesterol Meds Killing Performance

I have a friend who's after some advice. His doctor has him on blood pressure (Avapro) and cholesterol (Lipitor) medication. Since taking this medication, his performance on the bike has suffered. If he goes off the medication, performance improves. So, has anyone else has this experience and...

    2008 Tour de France Stage 17 - Wednesday, July 23: Embrun - L'Alpe-d'Huez, 210.5 km

Can you imagine if Cadel pipped Sastre in the TT to take it by a second or two (and it may), and here at Stage 17, Sastre rode that last 25m no hands, kissing his jersey. That had to cost time..

    2008 Tour de France : Stage 9 : Toulouse - Bagnères-de-Bigorre 224.0 km Sunday July13

Letour.fr has Millar 4:34 down today. That's a long way from the yellow group.

2008 Tour De France : Stage 5 Cholet - Châteauroux 230 km Wednesday, July

Yes. That's the exact reason not to catch them 50km out. It's easier to catch a group that's been out there for 200km, than chase a group that has just jumped in the last 20km.

2008 Tour De France : Stage 1 Brest - Plumelec 195 km Saturday, July

Not sure what's going on at www.letour.fr, they've given the top 88 the same time. And, Soler is only 3 seconds down. This obviously needs adjustment.

2008 Tour De France : Stage 1 Brest - Plumelec 195 km Saturday, July

Read that on letour.fr, apparently the team director said that Baden requested it. Only a 2% difference, but it means he's thinking about doing something at the finish which is a good sign.

Can anyone recommend a cheap cycle computer.

Funny you should mention that, just bought one from KMart for $19.95 last week. It's the next one up, so has average & maximum. I only got it really for the odo, as I've got a GPS to do everything else. Cheap nasty, but seems to do the job. It was 3 degrees this morning, so no danger of hot...

Tour de France 2008: Pre-race Talk

Anyone know when the start list will be announced? Also, what's the story of no prologue (first time since 1967 according to letour.fr)? Will it change the race at all, or just give a few sprinter some time in the sun before the ITT at stage 4?

Avanti vs Giant Hybrids? please help

Haven't checked this forum for a while.... I must admit, I didn't test ride a hybrid. I based my hybrid vs MTB decision on features. I rode 3 (maybe 4) different MTBs, and there wasn't much in them. Maybe because my other bike was a road bike, so not really used to the comfortable ride, so they...
