    Miguel Indurain documentary.

thanks for the link! great documentary. despite all the stories of him being on the juice, he is one of my favorite riders. pure class on the bike and off.

    Laurent Fignon No Longer Alive

great videos! the 92 clip brought back some fond memories of that tour. it was the last year we got to see a lot of the greats from the previous decade come out in good form. roche had a great tour, hampsten won the biggest stage of his life, fignon won, delgado and bernard blew that race...

    Laurent Fignon No Longer Alive

rip for one of the greats. he was a part of my favorite era in cycling and was one of the really colorful characters among many that made the 80's so great. he had a great attacking style and likable arrogance about him. a shame that he died so young.

Jeez what is Lemond's hard on!

no disputing your claims. carl lewis in 84 made riis look like a small timer. fignon also guilty of amphetamines after his impressive 89 ride. the 80's were probably a high point in athletics for steroid use. flojo, jackie joyner kersey, the east germans, etc. in my original post i wrote...

Jeez what is Lemond's hard on!

naw, im saying that pre-epo, tour de france winners rountinely had 1 or more bad days at some point over the course of 3 weeks. hinault, roche, lemond....minus the two known dopers. post-epo, the tour champs rarely broke down and could follow any attack. im not saying that the 80's were full...

Jeez what is Lemond's hard on!

if you look at the way lemond rode and the way they rode from the indurain era up until now, he does appear to have shown signs of clean riding. he had at least 1 poor day in every tour he rode in minus perhaps 1990, but even then, he wasnt doing the stuff that armstrong did. in 89 he won off...

Can Andy Schleck still win the Tour de France?

no questions about it. schleck is the better climber this year. its really a shame because had he taken just 20 seconds on contador on that stage, wed be in for a HUGE final mountain stage and tt. i just think that with one day left, and contador knowing he has about 1 minute or more to spare...

    Can Lance win stage 16?

not an embarrassing ride imo. they started that sprint quite early and lance hasnt had that kind of sprint for years now. plus, he was on the wrong wheel when the sprint opened up. no loss there. he put in a lot of effort to keep that breakaway going and hats off to him. that said.... its...

Can Andy Schleck still win the Tour de France?

the problem is that i think the attack that schleck put in when his chain dropped was the day to put the hurt on contador and now he has only 1 day left to do so. contador can put everything on the line knowing that its his last day in the mountains and even if hes tired, hes going to beat...

Can Andy Schleck still win the Tour de France?

in all actuality, schleck might a bit lucky to have lost the jersey. i imagine his final time trial wouldnt be as bad as the chickens famous ride, but i suspect he will lose massive chunks of time. i do however see schleck beating contador in the next year or two. id say that hes been the...

    Today's STFU Moment

agreed. contador didnt know it would amount to 10 seconds when he attacked. for all he knew, it could have been minutes or nothing at all. plus, if vino was my teammate, i wouldnt give a rats ass whether or not he could win the stage if i was trying to win the gc. vino would never hold...

    Subpoenas Issued in Cycling Inquiry

ill bet the shack is not going anywhere near their winning formula now.....it's worked out better than i thought. if the aso excluded them from the race, everyone would still have questions about what ifs, but now theres no question. they dont perform the same when off the funny stuff. their...

    2010 Tour de France: Stage 9, Morzine-Avoriaz - Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, 204.5 km

hes riding with the pride of the rainbow jersey on his back! tough as nails! i used to hate evans, but with the year hes had, i want to take back everything i said about him in the past.

Cadel Evans and the Maillot Juane

this is particulary sad in that evans has transformed himself from when he was on the podium 2 years ago. he went from being the wheelsucker every viewer hated to the guy who animates races. i imagine he would have finished with gesink and menchov had he been healthy and that would have well...

    2010 Tour de France: Stage 9, Morzine-Avoriaz - Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, 204.5 km

GREAT stage! i loved that moreau was up at the front despite being the oldest man in the peloton. i always thought boassen hagen was the man of the future (behind schlek of course), but it looks like robert gesink might be that guy instead. radio shack get shelled yet again. no crashes or...
