Strava Fitness And Freshness Vs. Training Peaks

Does anyone know if there are significant differences between Strava's fitness and freshness measurement and the CTL/ATL calculator that Training peaks uses? Sorry I can't think of the name for training peaks measurement.

    best apps for Wahoo Kickr

I recently pulled the trigger and had my shop order me a Kickr trainer. It should be here Monday. Trouble is there are so many options for software. I wanted to see what others are using and rate the pros and cons of each. I would like to shorten the learning curve and get the most out of my...

    Help with training peaks

I'm having a problem with either my software or my computer. When I try to import a file from my Garmin 705 a new window pops up and says Training peaks has ecountered an error and is shutting down. I have been using this software for over a year with no problems, and now this happens. Any...

New Quarq+Garmin Edge 500 or Used Wired SRAM SRM Powermeter?

I use a Quark with a 705 computer. It works great. I had a Powertap wireless before, but found myself wanting to use different wheels. I think the end results for both of your options would be very similar, but for me wireless would be the way to go.

    gpx files from the tour

Maybe I should have been more specific. I want to use them for my computrainer, so I think GPX is what I will need. I already looked at Garmin's site, but there is only a couple things there. I thought one of the racers might include it in a blog or something.

    sustainable ctl

Yeah, I started the CTL at 0. I had some training in already, so the ramp rate probably isn't 100% accurate. Lately the rate of increase has slacked off a bit. I use my best normalized 60 min power to set FTP which is 340. I know my average rides for the last few weeks have been about...

    sustainable ctl

So I've been on Training peaks for about 8 weeks now. My CTL is 82 as of this afternoons ride. It has been going up 8-10 points per week. I think there is going to have to be a time when it hits a ceiling. What have you guys found to be a sustainable level without losing motivation or getting...

How do you delete part of a ride file?

I just finished down loading a ride into WKO. I guess I must have left the Garmin on before the ride because there is about 6 hours of "ride" in the file that are screwing up the numbers. For example the TSS is over 700 for the ride. First, I want to delete the first six hours of the ride...

    Dura Ace Cassette/Sram Red Drivetrain

It depends on how long your chain is. It would probably be fine, but you should test the big/big combo in the workstand first. Of course you shouldn't use the big/big combo, but it happens sometimes by accident.

    Dura Ace Cassette/Sram Red Drivetrain

Yes. It acyually works quieter and shifts better than a SRAM cassette. BTW any hub that is Shimano compatible is also SRAM compatible. They use the same spline pattern.

A wise man told me once, the key to going fast is to spin big gears. Darned if he wasn't right.

Ibuprofen before Vo2 max workouts? You too?

Wow, after 14 pages of reading I have a headache. Out of curiosity Tony, have you ever tried asprin instead of ibuprophen? The reason I ask is that asprin is not only an analgesic, but also a vasodilator. It may get more blood to your muscles. I almost always take a couple asprin before Crits...

Agree 100% My old wrestling coach summed it up best by saying "You can be the hammer or the nail. Either way it is going to hurt, but it is better to be the one calling the shots." It is amazing how well that philosophy works not only in sports but real life also

Legal drug(jet fuel) and CHEAP too

Funny you bring up eload. Your recipie matches what Dr. Stoddard (who invented it) told me almost exactly. I have used eload quite a lot and it is really good. I guess there really is nothing new anymore.

    Sombody explain "super days"

I understand super compensation, the difference is that there was no massive training load. Unless sitting on the couch watching football while stuffing my fat face counts.

    Sombody explain "super days"

The term sedentary balst off was more of a joke. Detraining is really the case. It was just one of those days when I felt great, for no obvious reason.
