So who is Team Astana racing for this year at the TdF

so it seems everyone is thinking Contador is the odds on favorite. But really, is Lance likely to race in any role other than the Patron? Isn't it against his nature to be a domestique? Could this all be posturing? Who is team Astana really racing for? Lance or Contador?

    Why did Hincapie attack today?

It seems to me that Hincapie attacking in the flats was a serious departure from team strategy of prior years. SHouldn't he have stayed w. lance to conserve energy? Was this an indication of a different team strategy thet may have resulted in the dramatic loss of the team on the climb?

Will TDC defens Lance's Yellow Jersey?

I wonder if TDC will try to defend Lance's Mellow Johnny from here to the end of the Tour. If Lance were to retain it from here to Paris, it would certainly end any arguement about whether or not he was cycling's greatest. Talk about an exclaimation point at the end of a career

A suggestion for Ullrich to get back in contention...

He should go back to taking ecstasy and playing rave music over his headphones. Maybe that would get him back on track :D :D :D

    Tour de France 2004 Reflections:

Well, as the 2004 TdF begins to wind up, it seems apparent the fellow American (and Texan) will win his record breaking 6th Tour. I don't know about all of you, but I followed every stage closely and am almost sad to see it come to a close. But like all tour before it there are definging...

Is Armstrong a classless white-trash jerk?

First his antics on the 2002 TdF. This year the fact that he attacked and dropped Landis on Stage 17 for individual glory and then tried to clean it up in the press, going as far as to force Landis to publicly agree that it was his own doing. And now this BS with Simoeni... first he slanders...

Lance showed no class today at all... Totally lost respect for him today

After having Landis pull him all the way through these days, it would have been the least Lance could have done to at least pull him a few Kilos downhill to let him win just one stage. Instead, bickers and whines at Landis at the start of the descent. He threatened Landis until he finally...

    Spectator giving Lance the Finger

Did anyone else see that spectator who gave lance the middle finger about 1/3 way up the Alpe d'Huez?

    Bore de France???

Am I the only person to notice that this years Tour seems to lack any spirit or drama? Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Lance moving up in the GC and his opponents dropping off (and out), but short of the Indurain days of the Snore de France this seems quite sleepy. Certainly last years tour...

    Trek OCLV55 Framesets!!!

I just saw on Lance Chronicles that he is riding a custom Madone SSL made of OCLV 55!!! All thing being constand, wouldn't that mean the frame he is riding is about 1/2 the weight of last year's Madone he rode?!! If so, doesn't that put his current frameset at about the 1.5 pound mark...

Aren't these new TTT rules in the TdF AWESOME???!!!!

These new TTT rules for time lost by losing teams are great. I think they more accurately reflect the spirit of competition and preserves the integrity of the Tour. I think its more than fair. I think maybe to make things even more fair, all participants from previous years should be...

Are Treks, Giants, and Specialized "Soul-Less"

Still in the market for a new bike. I've always ridden Italian bikes loke Pinarello, Cinelli, and Colnago's. However I am being swayed toward one of the above three due to pricepoint and availability. Something doesn't feel right though about getting one of those.. I don't know why. Then...

Specialized Roubaix Pro, Trek 5500, or Fondreist Domino?

Need some advice here... I'm an former Cat 3 racer, but havent raced in about 8 years. Since then I've not raced but instead have been riding centuries and a lot of recreational tours on an Aluminum Cinelli Aliante. Its a great bike equipped with 2000 Campy Record 9, but I think the frame is a...
