Saving to buy a better bike. Setting some goals

A used top of the line bike can be had for around that price range. I vote fo the Scott CR1. It's light, stiff and comfortable. A good climber

    fat and hooked

Congrats!!! well it takes times... If you're new to cycling or just gotten back to it...it takes sometimes to build up your "base". If I lay off during the winter months (which I usually do) and just gotten back...it takes me anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months to get back to my...

    Specialized, Trek or Scott

CR1 .... if you do some googling...the CR1 in independent testing (from a German magazine I believe) is stiffer than the Trek but yet a very comfy all around bike.

Scott CR1 Pro: Good carbon bike?

I own a pro updated with several DA parts. It's a very good all around bike IMO. Stiff enough but not too stiff to punish you.

Help me choose my next CF frame please !

being an owner of a couple of CF bike myself, I'll say ..it's option 3) face reality. But then again ... we only go around once, I think ;) having said that...the Parlee is special, to me, if it's custom. Since it's not customized to your fit, I'd say...the Look :)
