yeah that's what we thought yesterday - but it was just footy and soccer... and some greyhound racing... cycling is way better! :D

where to go to watch the tour? (MELB, Vic)

hey guys, just a quick q - does anyone know or have suggestions of where to go to watch the tour? possible on a big screen? i don't get sbs reception and my friends will end up hating me - some of them don't follow cycling in the same way! :D any suggestions gladly accepted - if it helps i live...

    hobbies/obsessions other than biking

sounds like a good car! ppl say the same things about size with the older crx's- carrying fridges. or the new jazz/fits... i do like other cars btw, but have s soft spot for hondas. lol at hijacking thread... but yeah the scene is a bit similar, although large parts of my know how are from...

    hobbies/obsessions other than biking

i know quaife, they use them in hondas too. yeah, too many honda's are a bit 'ricey' although that term seems a little un-PC. let us know how the build goes, im an avid fan of car builds, especially the older ones - my fave hondas are the ef civics. very nice! yeah, b and d series swaps...

    hobbies/obsessions other than biking

nice! love the early golfs! was watching an entertaining (possibly innaccurate) vid of a modded golf hit high speeds... and others pull some good numbers... Dyno Slow golf? Have not heard of peloquin? Was into hondas more, golfs were the competition! :P

Break pads disintegrate in the rain

In leaving crud are they breaking down faster than they do in the dry? I've noticed my pads diminish rather rapidly (or so I feel compared to when I hardly rode at all = possible answer) and was wondering how long they should last? 105 brakes/not sure if the pads are specific to 105 or just...

    What was your best upgrade?

interesting one with the handlebars - when i bought mine, i swapped in a slightly narrower set of bars, cos im used to them a bit narrow... lose some torque in sprints, but the breathing seems to be fine? and the aero is worth it, i think? :D

    a couple of questions...

mate that looks fantastic! much cleaner than mine! and my LBS sells both of those- yes its a whipperman connex one for 10sp(what the bike came with...), they'll do the install cos i dont have a chain breaker atm (now won't need one!) and am studying too much!

    What was your best upgrade?

moving to road... then buying a decent road bike (trek 1400) and going clipless... massive difference in power/endurance/top speed :D

    What was your best upgrade?

    a couple of questions...

Sounds like i'll do it then. There seems to be a lot more info on the powerlink for campy chains, maybe shimano users don't like cleaning chains? I've just noticed my bike comes back quite filthy after a slog out on the roads round melbourne, esp. beach rd after it has rained/is still showering.

New to road bik. Help Wanted!

don't know if this is obvious... first time i was pumping high pressure tyres, i didn't unscrew the valve, and couldn't get any air in... the 50psi could be what you are creating b/w closed valve and the pump tube... :) good luck anyway!

    a couple of questions...

just wondering if anyone else here with shimano 10 speed is running a connex chain link, similar to the poewrlink for campy chains... if so, how does it hold up? i've been riding a bit since may, and want to make sure im taking good care of the rig, so wanted the link to remove the chain and...

    Broken Seat Post

well its all better, except that the fit is slightly off was it was before... ie my back felt the difference, possibly in the slope of the seat or tiny change in height... but otherwise the post seems stable...

    Broken Seat Post

well got the bike back - the owner (foget his name???) said when he gave them the broken seat post the guy had a heart attack. lol. they have replaced it with a bbb post, possibly 'cheaper' but definitely more rigid. will be taking it out for a burl in the morning, and will let you know how it...

    Advise on wheelsets please

do you use it everyday, ie as a training wheel? what are the spokes like? where did you get urs from, and what seems a reasonable price? are the hubs better than DA hubs? i would like a wheel i can ride on, then come summer, maybe do some crits when ive got more mileage in my legs...

    Advise on wheelsets please

thanks for that... im still slightly confused...(of course!). are you reccomending more spokes (deep v) or less as above? i was thinking of having a deeper profile rear, focussed on strength and aero, with a front that was less aero and lighter - carrying less weight and making it easier to...

    Advise on wheelsets please

happy if it is a bit less too... otherwise i will have to save more before purchasing...

    Advise on wheelsets please

well that's where i'm not too sure... would prefer durability at the expense of weight, and the same for stiffness over weight... dont think i wanna spend more than the bike ~2000... so there you have it; around 1000-1600ish that are reasonably tough and good enough to sprint on. if they are...

How many of you carry a gun as part of your cycling equipment?

That seems interesting? What happens if your child was shot by someone else who had trained their children to kill? Would it feel better to have that? Someone with a weapon is more likely to use in the case where another is also armed... I'll be living where there are less weapons. That is the...
