    Chainring & chain Qs...

Hi alfeng, The job was to fit a new set of chainrings and a new cassette. The bike was handed in with a new, unused chain. I'm not sure where in the world you are, so I'm not sure if the relative cost will help the thread much, if at all? Thank you for the photos and info'. I will...

    Chainring & chain Qs...

Thank you, Froze. You've stated what I've been thinking... :| These were apparently fitted as new to my bike this week. I caught the LBS swopping out my front derailleur for a cheapie and am now following up on the other parts that have been swopped out.

    Chainring & chain Qs...

Hello everyone, On a Shimano 9-speed HG chain, is it standard to find the letters 'LF' engraved on random links? Do these chainrings look new to you? They were fitted, the gears adjusted and the bike was then ridden around a parking lot in order to test the adjustment...

I'm about to burn my bike...shock help needed!

Should I use petrol or paint thinners? :D Hi all, I've had my bike back and forth between the multiple LBS...who either have no idea how to set it up, or set it up wrong - too soft/hard. I have a Manitou Swinger 3-way shock on my bike and it's seriously ticking me off. I have a shock pump...

'06 Trek Session 77 - Yes or No?

's up? Have any of you ridden, or own, a '06 Trek Session 77? What do you think of it? Can it be used as an 'everything' bike?...XC, FR, jumps, some racing, etc. Basically - would you buy it? I've read the MTBr reviews, and just want some final info before I go ahead and bankrupt myself. ;)...

    Help me out with sizing...

Hi all, Been out of the game for awhile, so I could use some advice to refresh my memory... I'm about to buy a freeriding rig... I'm around 6'3" - 6'4" in height. The mnfr site lists the biggest size as a 19", but my distributor may be able to get me a 21". Which would you recommend...

Anyone have contact details for someone senior at Trek?...

*lol*. I'll keep that in Mind, WingNutt. :] Thanks. I just got mail from someone I was looking for details for, and it's not happy news. :-/ *looks at bank account...* Is this the end?... N.

Anyone have contact details for someone senior at Trek?...

Hey cyclewaze, I have tried the contact form on their site, and always - when they do reply - get dealt with by the same guy, wierdly enough. Problem is that they are rather slack in replying, if they do at all. I'm trying to elevate a query of mine, and wish to bypass the usual customer...

Anyone have contact details for someone senior at Trek?...

Like the title says, I'm trying to contact someone senior at Trek who would be able to help with a customer query. Mail/PM. Thanks, N.

    Frame warranty questions...

Wow - this topic reeeally changed direction. :] Amazing, stevefenton - a guy half-way across the globe from me has contacts who know me by way of my typing, and 'net nick. Your powers of deduction (read: BS'ng.) truly astound one and all. Lastly, it's [Muppet], fool. =]

    Frame warranty questions...

This is growing tiresome. Let me throw some facts your way Stev, Firstly, the crash I speak of was witnessed by a fellow rider, and the impact was taken by me & my handlebars. Would you like my old bar as proof? I know and have dealt with the distributors numerous times for various things...

    Frame warranty questions...

I'm truly amazed Stev, You must be the first person ever not to have ever fallen off of your bike. How do you do it? Have you ever ridden offroad? The 'crash' in question involved my front wheel hitting a rise in the trail, and me leaving my bike for some hang-time. I don't take kindly to...

    Frame warranty questions...

OK, Trek USA has responded to a seperate email of mine asking what the equivalent was, and if they can do a discount deal... Amazing, 1 day. They are improving! I am probably entitled to a Fuel frame, although we're not sure which, yet. OR...a dollar-amount-off kind of deal. We'll see...I'm...

    Frame warranty questions...

OK, I had the LBS strip the frame bare 'cept for the linkage and associated bolts/nuts... The distributor took a look, agreed, and has sent off something or other to Trek HQ - I'm in South Africa. I should hear something in a week or so -looovely. :-/ To the truly well-informed among us...

    Frame warranty questions...

Hi cyclewaze, It's an Aluminium frame, a VRX to be precise. I'm dealing direct with the distributors, not an LBS, so that help.s, too I 'spose. :] Thanks for the help. I'll let you know how it goes. N.

    Frame warranty questions...

Hi all, I own a Trek, which I've had from new. The frame is quite old now ('99), and is now bending - through no fault of my own, and not due to crash damage. My last major crash was almost 2 years ago. The bend is not bad, at the moment just a few degrees, but it is visible, and a worry to...

mtnrider... Firstly, this post is YEARS old. Secondly, read before you post sh/t - I refered to 'concave' in BIKING TERMS. No, I ain't grouchy, or grumpy - I just get annoyed responding to people who do before they think. Cheers.
