    Music while Ridding

Does anyone listen to music while they are ridding? (CD player, walkman, or MP3 Player) I do, and I have found that it helps keep my mind off how hard I have to work while ridding. The only thing that you really have to watch out for is dogs sneaking up behind you. ;)

    Beginner....What to eat?

I try to stay away from the highly processed cards, but man the whole wheat stuff (excuse me for saying this) makes me not visit the throne for days plus causes cramps in the lower region. Don't say bad words like that!!! Never say hydrogenated! We don't buy that either. I would eat first...

    Beginner....What to eat?

Ok, I have only been riding about 4 weeks now at about 6 miles 5 days a week. I am 240 lbs, and I am really trying to shed some pounds. I have realized that my body really likes carbs and also likes to store them for later. (If you know what I mean) I ride in the morning before I eat breakfast...

    Cycling Computer...Help!!!

Last summer I purchased a bicycle computer from my local Wal-Mart. This summer, I noticed the battery going low, so I pulled the battery out to see what size it was so I could replace it. Then I realized that it reset everything back to the first day I bought it and all my settings for my bike...

    Cycling Shoes...What are these for?

Ok, I'm a newbee, and I am still using regular shoes. What is the purpose of cycling shoes other than helping your feet stay on the pedals?

What does weight have to do with it...

OK, I could easily get my feelings hurt by some of the comments here, but with my new attitude, it's just going to make me ride harder and longer. Alls I'm looking for is a good, strong beginners bike that will last me a while until I can shed some pounds. Nothing real fancy....but I do want...

What does weight have to do with it...

Ok, I'm new to cycling, and I have noticed in some posts that you guys are making reference to the weight of the rider and the type of bike, shoes, and seat a rider should buy. How does my weight (239.5lbs and counting..on a diet you know) (I'm 5'11") affect what bike and shoes I buy? Thanks...

What should I do if my town only has one LBS? I can drive about 75 miles to a larger town where there are many to choose from. Should I buy locally so they can maintain it and service it, or should I go to a larger city to buy it (might get better deal) and then have it serviced here in town?

    cycling in cold weather

Thanks for the tip Duckwah! I will look for one and I agree with staying home if it's cold, but you have to try to make an effort even if you ride for 5 minutes and then come back home. :)
