01 'Dale or 05 Virata? Which one should I buy??

I've been reading this forum for a while but never had anything worthwhile to post...until now. I'm trying to decide between a 2001 Cannondale R1000 Si full Campy Chorus or a 2005 Bianchi Virata full Ultegra. Both are pretty close in price. I'm just getting back into cycling after about a 15 year break, and I have an old steel Bianchi from the 80's that I love, but am looking for something much lighter. Any suggestions? I could really use some good advice.

If you want just performance, stiffness on shorter rides but not comfort, go for the Cannondale. But if you want a combo of both comfort and decent performance for longer rides like centuries, I'd go for the Virata.
