1. Cutters 2. I can't remember

Trying to follow protocol, but didn't think I would need to write down
the podium.

It's not on their website yet, though.

Pretty astounding event! I'd never seen it before, and it's fair to say
that much of the thing is as if you took a Cat 3 race and added
singlespeeds with a single coaster brake, put 'em on cinders, and added
a bunch more bizarre rules.

In other words, a crash-fest! Which it pretty much was.

The finish came down to the five teams that were still on the lead lap,
all bunched tightly and slowly. On the 1/4 mile track, the last few laps
went down with the Cutters rider (slowly) in the wind on the inside.

So when he led out the bunch starting at the bell lap, I knew the
Cutters were completely doomed, having seen the same thing in lots of
low-Cat races (I got the best accidental lead-out for a prime one
time...).

Darned if he didn't hold it to the end! Not only didn't anyone manage to
come around him, I think he actually put time onto the other riders
during the final sprint.

Bizarre event, but beautiful. the HDNet coverage was a lot of fun,
though punctuated by lots of questions from the guy playing the naive
announcer that were conveniently answered by the resident bike-racing
expert commentator.

So I'll try to watch that again next year.

That sounds really cool. Hopefully it'll get posted to the internet,
at least the last dozen or so laps.
