11-29t cassette?

There is no such thing. you could use an 11-32,but would need a MTB RD to shift it. Alot of weenies even go with a 11-34.

Did some calculations, and an 11-29 would make some of our Salt Lake climbs alot easier (from a gear-inches stand point).

Anyone have the specs. on this, or know where I can find them? Also, with such a wide gearing range, I would assume shifting would not be as smooth (a difference in 10 gear-inches up is somewhat difficult to make). Thoughts from the forum are appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sheldon Brown has a Custom Cassette from 11 - 28.
To go wider than that, you would either need to make your own custom cassette or go with a 11 - 32.

The more you go above the 27 tooth specification for the Ultegra rear derailer the more challenge you will have in getting it to handle the big cog.

I've climbed Mt Baw Baw in Victoria on a 13-28 shimano ultegra. This climb is a horse cat. at 7km with 18% gradient.

Any smaller than a 28 you just spin and don't really get anywhere.

After climbing mt's as big as this you don't really want to pedal down the decents - so the 12/11 isn't needed.

There was no problems changing into the b/c/r.
