I can't believe how fast this winter is passing. So far I have focussed on maintenance, recently increasing my high level 3/low level 4 volume. My 1hr power is about where I left off last season. I haven't really done any level 5 work so far. This will be interesting, starting my 2nd season training by power. I have been considering when to start trying to increase my FT power, and when to shift the focus to vo2max training.

Last year I alternated between L4 and L5 blocks of about 4 weeks, including recovery weeks, right up to the start my racing season. I could almost squeeze in 3 of these phases if I start now. Or might I be better off with something like 6 weeks of L4 followed by 5 weeks of L5, including recovery weeks in the mix? I guess there are too many factors to consider. For what it's worth, my 1hr power is about 4.3w/kg, and 2 x 20' power was about 4.5w/kg, and my 5 x 4' power was around 5w/kg when I left off.
