1998 Campagnolo 9 speed Chorus freehub body

1998 Campagnolo Chorus 9 speed freehub body is ruined. And the
threaded axle is sort of scored on one of the steps which goes into the
freehub body. Not sure its scored enough to matter. But the internals
of the freehub body are ruined.

Besides the official freehub body which QBP, AE Bike, etc. sell for
about $85, which other freehub bodies will fit onto a 1998 Chorus
axle/hub body?

I know in 1999 Campagnolo went to the oversized aluminum axle and away
from the threaded axles for Chorus. But would a cheaper 1998 Athena or
1999-200? Centaur/Athena/Daytona freehub body work on my 1998 axle?
Could I buy a sort of cheap current model Mirage/Veloce or Centaur rear
hub and put the axle/freehub/bearings, etc. into the hub shell on my
1998 Chorus wheel?

I have a 1997(?) or 1998(?) Shamal 9 speed rear wheel with threaded
titanium axle. Coulld this axle and freehub body and bearings, etc. go
into the 1998 Chorus hub shell? Or would just the freehub body from
the Shamal wheel fit? This Shamal 9 speed rear wheel is polished
silver and is 41 mm deep with the pink decals on the side. 12 spoke
model. Tearing rear hubs apart is not fun enough to just do it to see
unless I have some confidence it will fit.

Needless to say all of the Campagnolo PDF drawings of the parts only
list the official Campagnolo part numbers. And each freehub body on
each wheel has a different part number. Even if they are
interchangeable.
