Answering a question with a question and avoiding the issues of the
matter. You must be from Uranus.

Weakness is in the eye of the beholder. Your obvious weakness is to
not back up your outlandish claims with fact, mostly because those
claims cannot be backed up with fact. Yeah, weak.

Nah weak because I thought you were smart enough to know when to quit. Hmmm
well maybe your just clever. Not as good as being smart but at least it will
keep you employed so you can pay child support.

It seems he isn't the only one who doesn't know when to quit. You fling
insults freely, then take on a snide, paternalistic attitude when they
are flung back at you. Sleazy, dude. Real sleazy. BTW, it is obvious
from your grammar skills that you don't have any reason to be blowing
smoke out of your ass in regard to your intelligence or education level.

In Utah it is far less than half. In my city it is not illegal to ride on the sidewalk, so I do that. I just stop at intersections or at least slow down because I just don't expect drivers to see me.

Why am I not surprised at this? Only thing MORE dangerous is riding wrong
way.

Seems to me like it depends on speed. If somebody's going at a walking pace,
their profile is the same as a walker/jogger...there speed is less than a
jogger...so one has to think about why walkers/joggers do what they do where
they do it - and not where somebody moving 15-20 mph does same...

When we were in Boise, we found out that its legal to ride your bike on the
sidewalks and mostly everyone did. Try doing that here in NY and the cops
would be on your ass in a split second writing up a ticket.

The funniest part is his not being able to back his frequently silly
claims. His tactics are sad and predictable. Avoiding the issues,
attempting to turn them into some pissing contest, or trying to turn
everything around backwards are not only tired practices, they a sure
sign of the feeble-minded.

I don't know why you're not suprised. I don't think I've said enough stupid things for you to just expect it from me.

And I often ride on the "wrong way" sidewalk, depending on which side has better things to jump over and such.

I've never been hit by a car, or even come close, but I'd like to hear what makes it more dangerous.

FYI- It is pretty rare around here to see a bike actually in the road. Everyone rides on the sidewalk in my podunk town.

Oh now your a motorcycle expert ? I have two "crotch rockets" and I can tell
you statistically that most motorcyclists I know would laugh at you for that
first statement. Stick to AMB buddy.

A stupid rider on a motorcycle is just that, stupid. It has nothing to do
with age or skill.>

Dunno TBF... Seems like you got our panties in a big bunch... I stopped reading the thread when you started saying you let it go... but you seem not to be able to stop posting responses ;-)
I agree with JD's original missive "crotch rocket kids" it has a lot to do with age... just like a kid with a new driver's license they don't know what they are doing.. yep... it has a lot to do with age... check out insurance rates if you're not sure... They go down as you get older (more experienced)...
Being a two crotch rocket guy you must know the term SQUID...
You know short for Squirrelly _kid_...
But I'm sure you knew that.

I think your gonna find "stupid" or reckless to be more sensitive, people in
every hobby. It's usually a small % that makes headaches for the rest of the
enthusiasts. I've been riding since I was 10, mini bikes, dirt bikes, quads,
then sport bikes. Assholes will be just that, no matter what the age is,
just give them a medium to act up. Insurance rates up here have stayed
virtually the same for the past 10 years for motorcycles. A minor increase
last year was followed by restrictions on certain types of sport bikes
because of one or two accidents. Riders Plus, a major insurer and
association for motorcyclists up here, has an entire report on the myth of a
rider's age being a factor.

That said, MTB has more than enough idiots too, would you say it has
anything to do with age, or is it attitude? wouldn't these people be a
problem for the majority if they took up another sport?

Do a few quotes based on different motorcycles, ages and riding experience,
tell me what you come up with:

http://www.motorcycleinsurancequotes.us/faq.html

Altho, age stats and the number of motorcycle related deaths, according to
this report, indicates that younger people are dying less:

http://www.hwysafety.org/safety_facts/fatality_facts/motorcyl.htm

But the AMA has also disputed and made their own reports:

http://www.wherethepoweris.com/news_article.asp?id=23

So basically, it can be debated from both sides of the coin..

I know more mtb'rs under the age of 25 who are trail assholes compared to
mtbr's over the age of 25...it does have a lot to do with experience and
consideration...

No arguments on the reports, I've read many on both sides. At the end of the
day, I gotta go with my own experiences while considering the stats. The ins
rates up here and in UK are pretty much in-line with a rating system based
on age and driving calendar years. Nothing to do with ability or attitudes.

That may in part be due to the fact that newbies come in all ages. There are
50 and 60 year olds riding motorcycles for the first time ever, and many of
them are rather set in their ways and not interested in taking lessons or
otherwise learning how to improve their odds of survival.

> That said, MTB has more than enough idiots too, would you say it has

Almost without exception, every MTBer I've ever seen misbehaving (ignoring
designated trail direction, blazing new trails around the existing one, flying
past hikers on the downhill without touching their brakes or even swerving,
etc) has been male and sub-30. The one female I can remember misbehaving was
trying to keep up with her male companion (not that that's an excuse).

I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that, while not all young people
are self-absorbed and careless, young people are, in general, more likely to
behave that way than are older people.
