Hi, there was a discussion here recently about this shoe/pedal combination, but no resolution
was reached.
I just called Speedplay, and they said to use the standard shims with the new 2004 Genius shoe.
Last night I tried that, and with the 3 screws torqued down, I saw a slight curve opposite the
curve of the shoe. To me this implies the standard shims are still too steep. The curve was very
slight, though.
The best fit I found was to use the Sidi shims with the extra (tiny) shim under the toe. That seemed
to give me a totally flat surface on the first cleat plate to mount the second cleat plate on.
The shoes are size 46 narrow. However, that shouldn't make a difference, as the cleat attachment of
the Sidis seems to be a modular piece.
Just FYI, maybe someone has better info.
