2004 TCR1 v.s 2004 MAILLOT JAUNE

Can't go wrong with either one. Drivetrain wise, it looks like the Lemond is a little better.

Alright cycling geeks, try this one out!!!!

I can get a new 2004 Giant TCR 1 or a slightly used 2004 Lemond Maillot Jaune for more or less the same money. Review all components at Lemond/Giant website and choose 1 and tell me why.

Components aside, one has a carbon frame, the other steel. Base your
choiche on that, components you can change over time.

Assuming both bikes fit you...............What kind of riding are you going to be doing? The Giant composite bikes are nice and light, but very aggressive geometry. A little twitchy on fast descents. I am assuming you are talking about the Spine bike when you refer to the Maillot Jaune? If you are, it is a really nice riding bike. Buttery smooth. One of the best riding bikes I have ever ridden. If you are a weight weenie, the MJ is heavier by a pound or so, but I did see one pimped out at about 16.5 lbs. Don't worry about the components. They are both nice. D/A is nice, but Ultegra is pretty OK too. Fit and ride are most important. Enough rambling..........Good Luck.
