1. My LBS has a new 2005 Specialized Tarmac in stock. To date, my best bike ever is my Schwinn Seirra GS 700 Aluminum with Bontrager road tires and Shimano clipless.

I currently run at a 14-16MPH average for up to 40 miles. Currently I sit in a more forward position but it is still fairly upright. I suspect that there will be an adjustment period. I am 210lb and 6ft. 55 y.o. but flexible and motivated.

What can I expect in a normal transition?

Are there any Tarmac owners out there?

Thanks

PS: It snowed today🙁

Sorry about the snow dude, I truly miss the warmer temps.
Any how I was looking at this Specialized last year, the store I go to let me ride it for a while in the parking lot, I questioned his action, he said,"I know you will buy it", I ended up changing the handle bar height just a little, (They swapped parts @ no$) and I love the bike.
It can be a hard choice, don't be afraid of change, I was but find myself much more open to new suggestions.
I would wager you are making a wise choice, you sound like you are careful and not just wanting new toy.
My rich neighbor has 2 of those 2006 Specialized Tarmac bikes, they are too good to talk to me.

3. The Tarmac is a great bike, but not for me. I am 188 pounds, 6'0", 54 y.o, and motivated, but not very flexible (bad back). I found the Speicialized Roubaix Elite much more to my liking.

If you are comfortable on the Tarmac, then go for it.

4. Thanks guys for the quick response.😄

The LBS has a Serrota fit station, so I think that will be a must move as well.

Any others out there? Replys are still welcome.
