I began riding on a steel frame that my father bought in a yard sale. I told him he'd never ride it and he never did because I took it. I began riding about 30 miles a day in 2 sets. I lost a ton of weight. I haven't touched the bike since it was winter here in Mass. I wanted to start off with middle entrance, but not some $10,000 bike.
I was originally looking at the specialized roubaix compact (I believe) it was $1600. Now specialized new base model is $2000. That is over my threshold.
I went to another store and the owner introduced me to the 2009 Fuji CCR3, it was $1500. Now it is a 50cm sm. Now I am about 6ft tall, and I was told a 56/58cm would fit me. The owner said that sounded right, but we both agreed that a lot of my height is in my torso. My legs are shorter, I wear a 30-32in pant leg depending on manufacturer for pants.
I have never tested a bike before of these calibers. Any advice? Price? Should I go with an Aluminum Frame like the trek 1.1 for $730
I have very little interest in buying used, I do want someone elses problem
