Would seem like a bunch sprint as long as the sprinters' teams get themselves organised. There is a small hill towards the finish with the top at 4.2km to go. This may complicate things a bit but it doesnt quite look big enough to cause the sprinters too many problems. Anyone who is struggling will find it difficult to get back to the front though as it will be a fast descent. Maybe Cavendish to win.

Can't really call this one for anyone other than Cavendish. He'll take the sprint by a bike length.

I'm watching it live on the website of 'Universal Sports channel'. Sooooo happy to see it.

    Check it out at

ETA: Leonardo Scaselli from the ISD team alone in the lead by 5:16 but it's coming down from the maximum lead of 8:20. Still a way to go.

Scarselli caught, Matthias Russ (Milram) abandoned. 10 km to go.

It soo going to be a bunch sprint.

And Petacchi takes it just in front of Cavendish!

    Congratulation!

ETA: with the bonus seconds, Petacchi is now 16" behind Cavendish.

Nice finish by Alejet : he got the nod just ahead of Cav and managed to hold him off.

Trieste looks like a nice venue.

    Nice result for Deignan too..

Cavendish must be so pissed, his team had him in a perfect position for that sprint.

Also, great result for Ben Swift, 3rd place in his first GT sprint finish!

Just realised there was a split in the peloton coming into the finale. Simoni, Armstrong, Bruseghin, Cunego gained 13 free seconds on Leipheimer, Basso.
