2010 Vuelta a Espana: Solares - Lagos de Covadonga - 187.3 km

The day´s journey, with 187 km, doesn´t include any other climb that counts for the championship. This is because the organization wanted to compensate the efforts and after the stage of the previous day´s journey, climbing to Peña Cabarga, and considering what is still to be done in the coming stages, it has be chosen the option of a just one mountain pass stage. This fact serves also to the purpose of highlight a mountain pass, Lagos de Covadonga, with more than 12 kilometres, an average fall over 7% and a very famous stretch, La Huesera, where the fall becomes higher than 13%.
