Stage 5 - Guadix - Lorca,198.8 km
This 5th stage, with 195 km, joints Guadix and Lorca, crossing 3 countries and 2 Comunidades Autonomas: counties Granada and Almería (belonging to the Comunidad Autónoma of Andalucía) and Comunidad Autónoma de Murcia. The finish in Lorca should be the second opportunity for the sprinters, because there is no scorable mountain pass that counts towards the championship and also because in the last kilometres there is a fall from 1.200 m in Almería to the 350 m in Lorca. This means a perfect ground for the massive sprint. For Guadix and for Lorca it is the 3rd time they have been start and finish of the Vuelta.

Nice win by Farrar. The boy finally beats both Cav and Pettachi in a GT sprint. That should boost his confidence no end.
