Hi, does anyone know if you can put a 38T chainring on a Dura Ace 10 speed chainset? all the TA 38T chainrings I have seen have said for Shimano 9 speed? I have a 53/39 with a 12-27 cassette with 650c wheels and am off to the Alpes in a few weeks and feel any little would help. Previously I have used the Dura Ace triple with a 12-23 cassette and usually needed the 30-19 or the 30-21 on the climbs and only the 30-23 when stuffed on La Marmotte going up l'Aple d'Huez after the Col de la Croix de Fer and the Col du Galibier. I had alot of trouble with the triplechainset working with 650c wheels due to the extreme chainline and decided to go back to a double when the Dura Ace 10 speed came out as it is fine for the UK, I haven't needed the 39-27 yet.

I guess another option would be a custom cassette, does anyone know who makes any? a 30T bottom sprocket would do it. I think TA used to but I don't think anybody does these days.

Thanks
