600 front derailer problem

if the deraileur moves back and forth with the lever, sounds like the lever might be loose and not creating enough friction to hold the deraileur in place.

there should be a knob or screw holding the shifter on. try tightening that up a bit.

actually, i think it's pointing at me! 😄

Nah, it had to be me and this is why...I had a washer reversed in the assembly. I turned it around and it works perfectly.
