The 6500 was the original 9-speed STI lever with two buttons for FliteDeck control on one lever,
while the 6510, which replaced it, has one control button for the computer on each lever. My general
impression has been that the 6510s are more likely to suffer an occasional DOA (dead-on-arrival)

Like Mike said but if the 6500 have the dull grey finish/cap, these rattle often.
