After a third meltdown of the FSA Team Issue, it's time to move on with a new crankset.
The bike came with the FSA and 6600 shimano components.
I know the 6600 rear is incompatable with the 6700 series cassettes but that the brifters apparently are compatable with 6600 or 6700.
What I'm wondering is whether the 6750 compact crankset will work with the 6600 derailleur setups (front and rear)
The new ultegra has gotten rave reivews but if it's going to cost me a complete component overhaul I'll get the 6600 compact that's still available.

While Shimano Dura Ace & Ultegra chainrings have superior ramping & pinning, you can choose whichever crankset fits your budget & aesthetic sensibilities ...

Hi Ranger63, I believe that the 6600 or 6750 compact crankset will work with the 6600 FD :)

I didn't know that they made a 6600 compact crankset and if they did I would have thought that it would be called a 6650 :)

Yep, FSA is pretty crappy stuff.

The 6600 'rear'(der?) is completely compatible with with 6700 cogsets. The 6600 ders will work fine with the 6750 crank as well. There never was a 6600 compact, it was called R700(9s was R600). 6600 STI works with 6700 ders and vice versa, 6700 STI with 6600 ders.

Hi Peter@vecchios, are you saying that the 6600 STI/FD and 6700 STI/FD are the same mechs unlike the 7800 STI/FD and 7900 STI/FD mechs?
