I have previously used 700 x 23 tyres on my road bike and found the Panaracer Duro Extreme really good for puncture resistance. Anyway, my tyres need changing and I found the same tyre but slightly different size i.e. 700 x 25 (This is 2mm wider in the tyre width than the 23, I assume?) at a promotional price from a local supplier. Almost half of what I had paid for the 700 x 23 tyres.
Are there likely to be any issues with changing to a 700 x 25 e.g. existing inner tubes, interior width of wheel rim. I am running on Mavic Aksiums (another good purchase).
2mm isn't very much so don't over analyze the difference. The slightly wider tire will allow you to use slightly lower air pressure, slightly improve your comfort and handling, and maintain your rolling resistance. Or you can probably maintain the same air pressure and see if you can feel the slight improvement in rolling resistance.
The wider tires will also weigh slightly more and have slightly more air resistance.
Keep in mind, 2mm isn't very much so none of these differences are going to be very big.
