I have a Campy 8-speed drivetrain. Will a 9-speed chain work with this
setup? If i upgrade to a newer 9 or 10-speed rear derailleur, can I use
an 8-speed chain or do i need to switch to a 9-speed chain?

8-speed chain with an 8-speed cassette. If you already have the 9-speed chain, give it a try, otherwise go
with the proper match.I don't think the derailleur cares what size chain you use with it.
But maybe one of our Campy experts can verify this.Life is Good!
