I am in the process of refurbishing my 1982 DeRosa. What I would like to do is to keep as much of the original equipment as I can while updating the drive train to new Chorus 10spd.
What I want to do is to spread the rear spacing to 130mm for new 10spd wheelsets, replace the rear derailleur to new Chorus while keeping the Super Record front derailleur and the front friction shifters. Buy ergopower levers just to operate the rear derailleurs.
My primary concern is mating the old Super Record cranks and rings to the new 10 speed cassette and chains, would this work well?
What other areas do I need to watch out for?
Also anyone recommend a good bicycle repaint/refinish place other than cycle art? Just looking for a good alternative. What I would like to do is to have the entire bike repainted and have the period correct decals reapplied.
