Biggest mistake I ever made at my last client's site was showing up for work one
(ostensibly...) miserable rainy/*windy* day with windsurfing stuff strapped to
the top of my vehicle.

Pete, try the "it stays on all season" ploy. I carry two boards and a box
full of sails/masts/booms most of the summer - just in case. Mind you, my
boards are old and look pretty used, especially in my thrashed board bags.

Wish I could also leave a bike hooked onto my trailer-hitch rack. But it
would last about 2 minutes without an armed guard with all the slimeballs
out there...
