So during my ride today I noticed the chain was rubbing on the front derailleur when I had the bike in the 2nd and 3rd chain rings... I've dealt with this many times before... just adjust the derailleur (via turning the screws on the top of the derailleur), simple right?
Well I did that, rode it down to the end of the street to see if I fixed the problem - not quite. Turn around, ride the bike home, shift it into the 1st chain ring. Go to adjust it - still on the 2nd ring... tried more adjusting, blasted the spring with the compressor to get the dust out of it... nothing. The cable goes slack when it's shifted into 1st and the chain stays on 2nd - are the only things I can see wrong with it. Any idea what's going on here?
A little background-
Bike- Haro VGF V-2, bought 5 years old
Shifters - Shimano "Ci-deck plus" easy fire
Derailleur- "acera"
