Here is a recent photo of Miguel Indurain.
He has been traning lately for the ciclytoruist race which bear his name: "La Indurain".
He looks great for a 46 year old.

Looks fit. I bet he can still produce a blazing ITT. I thought he was a bit older. I forgot how young he was when he retired professionally.

ÃŒndurain does like fit - the fecker!

Was that taken at last years TDF when Indurain, Sean Kelly and a few others rode the Tourmalet to commemorate it's centenary in the
    TDF?
Kelly rode a 1910 TDF bike up the Tourmalet!

Seems very young looking back, he probably could have won the 98 tour if we hung around /img/vbsmilies/smilies/biggrin.gif

I actually got to meet Indurain in Pamplona a few years back when I was helping a colleague out who was working on a cycling book.
Indurain looked a lot more retired back then compared to Sopas picture above!

Incidentally I was in San Sebastian last year and met up with a good friend from South Australia (hello Chris, Fiona and the kids). He owns a large building company but each year he takes 2 weeks off and he comes to Europe to ride with Phil Anderson http://www.philandersoncyclingtours.com/
Anderson was there in San Sebastian and I'd swear he'd still be able to ride a grand tour.

You know, here in Spain, Indurain is still a hero.
We have Contador too now, but it is totally different. I have the feeling that AC could win 10 Grand Tours and still he would not be as great a Miguel.

    Cheers!!

LA : yes, San Sebastian is a really lovely place for seafood. Apologies for offending our Spanish/Basque friends but stuff like marmitako ain't my cup of tea.

I found a great place whiskey bar called the Museo de Whisky, it's a round the corner from the Hotel Maria Cristina. The next time you're there it's worth a visit.
