  1. Today we did a practice using the local phone book.

What the coach did was open the book to a random page, and we swam the top
    number on the page.

Here is how it works: our local numbers have 7 digits. he would take the
last 4 numbers. What we did was fly drill, back swim, breast arms and free
    legs.

As an example, if the last 4 numbers were 1234, we would do 25m of a fly
drill, 50m back, 75m breast arms, and 100m of free legs.

I did alot more fly in this practice than I ever have in a practice.

I am tired, which is a good thing.

Another version of this is the deck of cards workout. The basic idea is
the same, you assign values to things like suits, then do the number of
reps of the card you draw. It's a nice way to do, e.g., conditioning
    workouts with weights or bodyweight.

The possibilities are endless - chess pieces, dominos, etc. A
plastic-coated deck of cards would fare alot better poolside than a
    telephone book, I'd think. 🙂

I'd be hopin' and prayin' not to get 100 fly ...

My body is remembering the 150m fly drill. My shoulders are whining at me,
telling me to not go tonight, take the night off.

I think I will ignore them.
